It is time to start thinking about our future kindergarteners that are enrolled at Young Elementary School for August 2025. We have two opportunities to help kindergarten be a smooth transition.
Kindergarten Screening is on Wednesday, July 16. Your child is invited to come to school for screening assessments with our teachers. The purpose of this time is to observe your child as he/she works with others, determine the skills already mastered, and gain insight into your child’s learning preferences. The screening will take approximately 20 minutes. During this time, you will wait in the lobby to complete a questionnaire about your child. Your responses to these questions will help us have a better understanding of your child. A few of our students attended pre-k at Young Elementary during the 24-25 school year. We were able to complete kindergarten screenings for those students in May. They will not need to attend.
Jumpstart Kindergarten will be July 28-August 1 from 8:30-11:30. ALL of our future kindergarten students are invited to attend. Students will get a jumpstart on the routines, procedures, and basic need-to-know skills! No supplies needed. Snacks will be provided. This is open for ALL students.
Please complete the two sign-ups. The first one is for kindergarten screening. The second one is to let us know if you will attend the Jumpstart Kindergarten program. More information will be emailed to those who can attend. Again, if your child attended Pre-K at Young Elementary during the 24-25 school year, their assessments were completed in May.
